Summary

FCA principles

Abundance are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and will provide approval for communications council wish to make about the investment.

Any communication which is encouraging a person to invest is what is known as a financial promotion. All financial promotions must comply with the following rules:

  1. The communication must be clear, balanced and not misleading
  2. Contain a risk warning. The size of the risk warning is proportionate to the communication
  3. Contain the details of the approving company (Abundance), our registration number with the FCA (FRN), and the date the content was approved

Any communication you make when you do not have a current open investment - for instance sharing factual information in between raises - is not a financial promotion, and does not require a risk warning. But be aware that if the objective of the communication is to encourage someone to make an investment, then it will be considered a financial promotion. If you have any doubt on this, you can seek assistance from Abundance.

Risk warning versions

Short form content - such as a social media post, or short email newsletter teaser - only requires a short risk warning, as follows:

Investments are long term and illiquid. Approver: Abundance (525432). Approval date: [01/07/2025]

It is also permissible to use the following slightly longer wording where space allows, which is more customer friendly:

Investments are long term and may be hard to sell. Approver: Abundance (525432). Approval date: [01/07/2025]

Longer form content - such as a web page, single topic email, or a physical poster - requires a longer risk warning, as follows:

Investments are long term and may be hard to sell. This is not a savings account. Changes in market interest rates may affect the value of your investment if you sell before maturity. Approver: Abundance (525432). Approval date: [01/07/2025]
