Key information
- The Abundance system is able to store utm_campaign parameters against users when they register for an account
- If you use human readable utm_campaign parameters that also contain your council name, we can use this to help assess and optimise your marketing channel performance
Detail
When an investor signs up for an Abundance account they indicate where they heard about the investment. However this information is only partial, and relies on investor recall. It also doesn’t usually result in them naming the specific communications channel that led them to the site.
Our system can help with this, as we store the utm_campaign parameter of a user when they register, which can provide additional useful information to optimise your campaign.
Here’s how to do it:
- You can set the parameter manually by using URLs like this: abundanceinvestment.com?utm_campaign=yourcouncilsocialmedia
- Don’t put quote marks around the utm_campaign, and don’t use spaces
- Please do include your council name in the utm_campaign parameter, as this enables us to recognise the investor has come from your comms activity
- If you are doing something like an email send, it is possible that your email sending tool contains options to specify the campaign name, or the utm_campaign will be automatically set to be your email campaign name
- You can check this in your email sending platform
